After hits like Okkadu, Manasantha Nuvve, Varsham, Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana Producer M. S. Raju has gained alot of fame and is one of the highly acclaimed producers of the contemporary telugu film industry. Sankranthi has been always successful for him and he has provided some rare gems in the season. M. S. Raju has been experimenting with various concepts like a traditional film, Pournami which didn’t do well at the box-office and later Aata which felt at the box-office miserably.

Now, M. S. Raju is debuting as a director with his forthcoming film "Vaana" which stars Vinay (Neevalle Neevalle fame) and Meera Chopra (Bangaram Fame). It is a remake of kannada superhit film "Mungaru Male" which literally means Monsoon Rain. There’s been alot of talk about M. S. Raju roping his son, Sumanth for the lead role and then Devi Sri Prasad but at the end Vinay has been finalised.

Leni Kamalakar is composing music for this film and the audio is expected to hit the shelves on 14th December, 2007 Leni Kamalakar has earlier provided music to "Praanam" and "Evadi Gola Vadidhi".Aditya Music has bagged the audio rights of this film. M. S. Raju himself is producing this film under Sumanth Arts Banner. More than 70% of the shooting is complete and the movie is expected to release on 14th January, 2008. If everything goes on well the crew is planning to finish its post-production work in the month of december.

It is a story about a happy man who is accompanied by his mother to attend a wedding. He eventually falls in love with a girl. When they both realize how deeply they love each other, they are struck by a twist which changes their life forever. The kannada version of the film was known for its technical values and shooting locations, lets hope to see the same glory in the telugu version too.
