The Story of Gate number 2 at BSE
January 26, 2008 · Print This Article · Email It
The otherwise closed door was first opened in 1992. What followed was the Harshad Mehta scam. Then it’s door was flung open in 2001 to welcome Bill Clinton. After that there was a major crash at the stock exchange. And now in 2008 the gate was opened for the third time to install the bronze-bull statue and the markets crashed again.
So, are the share brokers liking all the incidents? The source says that they are certainly a superstitious lot.
Reasons to believe
Interestingly in 1999 – 2000 when markets had touched the mark of 5000, celebrations were held at the rooftop of the BSE. At that time the BSE was not corporatised. Soon after the celebrations the markets crashed. Apparently, the roof-top celebration was held responsible for the crash of the market.
The recent blood bath in the BSE led to protests by share brokers demanding that the bronze bull installed in the premise be pulled down. The statue was installed on January 12 this year on the lines of New York Stock Exchange indicating prosperity in the share market.
So, if it’s the bull at work that is causing the problems then there is some advise by Vasstu Expert.
Geographical correction Vikram Mehta, a Vaastu expert says, "If they are planning to remove the bull then its their personal perception. Otherwise installing a statue of the bull is very important for prosperity Since it’s a bronze bull, it should be placed in South-West direction facing the North to get maximum prosperity If it is placed otherwise then its high time they placed it in the right way to get maximum benefit."
Gate 2 was opened thrice,
- In 1992 Harshad Mehta scam happened
- In 2001 it was opened to welcome Bill Clinton.
- And there was a major crash It was opened to 2008 install the bull.
