Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Opera-ballet ‘Padmavati’

Padmavati, a French Opera directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali was given a standing ovation for the brilliant ambience and the opera presentation. The Opera performed at the presitigious Theatre du Chatelet runned packed house. It was a lyrical tale set in the 13th century about a woman falling prey to a morally reprehensible bargain.
Padmavati is an adaptation of Albert Rousell’s Opera which he created after his return from India in 1923 impressed by the life of Queen Padmavati.
