Music Review: Wake Up Sid

Wake Up Sid is Karan Johar’s latest venture starring Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma. The successful trio – Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy has composed the tracks for this soundtrack. Check out how I felt about each track in this small and crisp audio review of Wake Up Sid!

Wake Up Sid – Perfect track, youthful and a typical SEL title track.

Kya Karoon? – No words to describe the beginning loop and rendition by Clinton just suits the mood set around the song. Special mention to the chorus bit.

Aaj Kal Zindagi – Good lyrics but lack of variety in the overall song.

Iktara – An emotion filled romantic track sung by Kavita Seth and Amitabh Bhattacharya. One minute into the song and you will find the real soul of the song. It’s a perfect track with right mix of lyrics and music.

Life is Crazy – Sounds very much similar to the title track. It sounds like a situational track and has more concentration on the lyrics.

Wake Up Sid (Club Mix) – Nothing much to say here as it’s a remix. Those who found the title track to be slow will love this track.

Wake Up Sid possess all the traits to become a successful soundtrack and not to forget the Karan Johar effect which can be seen everywhere in the soundtrack.
