The website of Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Andhra Pradesh police was hacked on Wednesday by a group called “ZombiE_K s A”. The group claimed that the hacking was done in response to the earlier hacking act on OGRA (Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority) by a group called “HMG” from India. They also claimed of hacking the websites of “Bank of Baroda” and “Zee TV”.
When the website was hacked, CID front page was displaying the hacker’s message and the ‘top ten criminals’ page was also tampered.
The websites are restored back and are working fine with all the data intact. “It was all open information about crime and criminals. We have not lost any secret information” said A. K. Khan, Additional Director General of Police.
They Police has ordered an enquiry in this issue and is in talks with the private firm which was hosting the website.
Similarly, the website of ONGC (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation) was hacked by group named ”Pakistan Cyber Army” late on Tuesday.
The cyber war between India and Pakistan has been running since a very long time and this clearly indicates the lack of security measures taken on Government websites in both the countries.
